Taylor Hawkins was much more than just a drummer; he was a dynamic personality with a powerful playing style and a signature grin. Growing up in Texas and Southern California, his passion for music ignited after seeing Queen perform live in 1982.

In the early '90s, Taylor joined the Orange County music scene and later became Alanis Morissette’s drummer in 1995, touring globally and appearing in music videos for hits like “You Oughta Know.” During this time, he befriended Dave Grohl.

In 1997, Hawkins joined the Foo Fighters, contributing to eight albums, including The Colour and the Shape. Over his 25-year tenure, the band sold 30 million records and won 15 GRAMMYs. In 2021, Hawkins and the Foo Fighters were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. His passion and talent left an indelible mark on rock drumming.

In 2005, Hawkins became endorsed by Gretsch, and was on their roster and played until his passing in 2022. To commemorate this extremely talented individual, Gretsch have brought out a replica of his USA Custom kit, with the same sizes and same Bright Pink Gloss Lacquer finish, which he had been using since 2015.

Central to every drum is the iconic 6-ply Gretsch-formula maple and gum shell, featuring a precisely crafted 30-degree bearing edge, a unique "Silver Sealer" interior finish, and durable die-cast hoops.
